Sadly kids do get cancer. We might not be able to take their cancer away but we can definitely be there for them through their journey. Every small effort can touch human life in such an impactful manner.

Companies can make a real difference to nonprofit organizations, helping them achieve their mission. Corporate giving programs help meet employees’ expectations of social responsibility. Research shows that millenials prefer working for companies with a culture of giving. Recruitment is easier and rates of retention are higher. Employees want to work for companies that are socially responsible and also want to support their communities.

Corporate giving can include employee volunteering which creates a positive attitude in the workplace. Community involvement among employees leads to higher morale. It brings people together from all levels of the organization, with everyone working toward a common goal.

We are always grateful when companies host a Kids & Art destination workshop. These take place once a month at different venues. Examples of companies who have generously hosted are Google and Pixar.

If your company is unable to host a destination workshop at their location, consider donating the cost of a destination workshop in lieu of a team retreat or gifts for a milestone birthday. The donation could also be in memory of a loved one or from a fundraiser. $500 would make this possible.

• $25 Provides healing art workshops for a child with cancer.
• $50 Provides stipends for two lead artists at our hospital workshops.
• $100 Provides healing art workshops for a child with cancer and their care circle. (Funds cover costs for entire family.)
• $500 Provides a destination art workshop for 20 children touched by cancer and their care circles. (Funds cover costs for art supplies, workshop materials, and stipends for volunteer artists)
